Hello fellow Kaleidescape enthusiasts.
I would like to ask for some help please to purchase a power supply for my KServer-5000.
Some background and information on my system:-
I purchased the server in Australia some years ago along with two disk vaults, two M500 players and five M300 players.
The server is full to capacity with hard drives and until now everything has worked flawlessly apart from the odd movie that would not import here and there.
The system is now in the UK and has been for three years and worked as it should.
Four months ago the server stopped communicating with the network, there were lights on the server, the server appears to not boot up properly and as such not connect to the network.
From what I read on this forum it looks like a classic power supply issue.
I contacted a dealer in the UK who informed me the price for a power supply was 1200 British Pounds this was not including fitting the power supply.
Or I could buy an exchange server for 4600 British Pounds (6800 British Pounds if I did not exchange my old server).
This leads me to say this, when it works Kaleidescape systems are simply excellent. However, to suggest that 1200 Pounds for a power supply is value for money (not including fitting) is absurd.
Does anyone or any dealer have any suggestions for a replacement power supply at a reasonable price please. I am happy to fit the power supply myself, I have seen the detailed instructions and whilst it doesn't look a five minute job, it does look like something I can manage myself.
If a dealer or individual wishes to contact me via direct message and not be publicly quoted on any suggested fix or price that will be respected.
I do not 'have' a dealer that looks after my system, so no one is going to get their toes trod on.
This is the first time I have posted anything on this forum, from the list of gear I have purchased from Kaleidescape for the video side of my system, you should be able to understand that I am not a cheap Charlie. But I refuse to pay 1200 pounds for a power supply and fans.
I will sell everything if I cannot get a solution to this power supply problem.
Thanks for reading if you got this far.
All suggestions welcomed.
