Pronto TSU9800

I'm not too worried about the demise of Pronto. Spares will be available for a few years to come, and as an added safeguard I bought a 2nd Pronto. It would be nice if Kaleidescape could tweak the Pronto module and include a child interface option that mimics the functions of the OEM child remote.

All at sea on the Good Ship Pronto!

I think that would kinda defeat the idea of a Child friendly RC? My kids are abit older now but when they were 2 & 3 I don't think I would have let them play with an expensive URC

And the remote is kinda boat shaped... I wonder if it would float!! :D
It's awfully quite Honey, where are the kids?

Pan.

My 3yr old quickly mastered the Pronto. It would be a nice feature when he picks up his remote that he only has access to movies in the childrens library, in the same way as if he was using the Kaleidescape child remote.

This would be the same as using the password parental control, but I think the added bonus of the Kscape kids remote is that it defaults to coverart view as soon as a button is pressed if im not mistaken? However I can't remember if 'coverart view only' is configurable in the installer page? Probably not if your looking for it though?

It is not configureable. You can only activate child mode by sending one of the child IR codes or (if you are running KEAOS 4.1.0) one of the child control protocol commands.

The advantage of child mode is that the content shown is based on a collection rather than by rating so you can have more control over what is accessible. That and passwords can be figured out.
