Prepping my library for the Strato K

So the other day I got a notification that I've been dreading since first bought my system - "Disk full"!

When looking through my library to decide what to offload to make space for new purchases (and impending 4K Cinematic upgrades), something struck me as rather odd, in that I had both Dolby Vision and 4K HDR10 downloads for many titles. I don't actually know how this has happened, and clearly it's duplication that I don't want to keep, but it also got me thinking about a big job to do once the K arrives.

My question is simple - is there any way to delete all 4K downloads from my Terra Prime (so getting rid of both the Dolby VIsion and the 4K HDR10), for movies I own, that have 4K Cinematic releases? I realise I can't download the 4K Cinematics until the K is installed - that's not a problem. Just getting ahead of the game as it would be useful to know how much space I will have on the disk (hopefully some, given the unnecessary DV/HDR10 dups!) post up-grade.

Here is a thread I started from the other day.

I actually found it pretty easy to use the Popcorn Ready app that I am already using to filter by 4KC files in my library. Then going title by title to delete the versions I no longer wanted. I remember reading to download the 4KC titles before deleting to maintain your collections if I am not mistaken. Just a heads up on that, so you may have to get creative if you've spent time making collections.
 
If you don’t have or want the Popcorn Ready app, this is the best solution

Sorry, should have been more clear. You can use the browser to go to your store account, select My Movies, then use the "Video" filter to select 4K Cinematic, then "Delete" and the next page will show you the versions you own and you can uncheck the version you want to keep, presumably the 4K Cinematic, to prevent it from being deleted.

Actually you can download the 4K Cinematic titles before the Strato K is installed. I tried it on a system with just a Strato C and it worked no problem. You do have to click through the warning to do the Cinematic download.
 
Correct, I am new to the club and finally get my K in a few days, but already bought a ton of movies on special from the K store without having a system linked to my account. Got the warning indeed which I guess is good info for someone who thinks he can buy and watch it on his Apple TV.

You can’t unless you have a linked terra server. You can purchase but can’t download.
 
Of course anyone with a Strato C will by definition have a Terra to be able to download. However if you have a Strato V, E, M standalone, (meaning with no Terra), then you’d have to wait for your Strato K to do Cinematic downloads.
 
Brilliant strategy by K: many will want more Server space to accommodate the larger Strato K files, and find K only has 30 and 120 tb Terra HDD servers available, due to market demand for AI storage

The server side of the equation is fraught with problems — cost, selection, features, reliability/durability/serviceability. I’m going to cool my heels and get much more active with my storage management instead of increasing capacity. I’d love to have everything stored locally, but it’s just not realistic for me now.

Not everyone will know that, thats why I posted to avoid further questions.

Oh! I was not aware of this - thank you!

Thanks to all for the other comments. It would be nice to be able to have some sort of automated way of just updating everything, but it seems that the only way is to go through and delete them manually.

I don't actually use collections, so I think I'll just delete everything that has a 4KC, and then download the new versions to the Terra Prime in anticipation of the K's arrival.
