  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Kaleidescape Gear Marketplace"? 🤔

    To sell gear on the forum, you need to have a current "premium" (paid) membership on the forum.

    The Kaleidescape Owners Forum doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. The fees for these premium memberships for people who sell gear here is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

    To summarize the tiers of membership:

    • Registered (free) members can participate in any discussions anywhere on the forum, message other users, download favorite-scene files and script files, and reply to any marketplace listings.
    • "Supporter"-tier members (as little as $15 for 30 days) can also make listings in the Kaleidescape (ONLY) gear Marketplace in order to try to sell Kaleidescape gear.
      (Supporters can NOT make listings on the Non-Kaleidescape Forum)
    • "Premium" and "Patron"-tier members, (starting at $50 for 6 months) in addition to many other benefits, can make listings to either of the marketplace sections here in this forum section.

Why Europe? I bought one from the US, the power supply takes 110-240 so not sure why. You don’t even have to use a VPN ( only on your tablet when buying)
 
Looking for a strato s for my setup , already have an alto and two cinema ones ( two networks) like to hook the alto and strato via a Lumagen…..

Because I want to use it in Europe, and shipping it from the US to mainland Europe is expensive, especially with import duties there.

If u find a nice seller that gives the value at say $100 it’s about $90 shipping and €45 import duty…even if it goes missing you will only get a few hundred back but tracking is good.

Wanted - one or more new 6TB replacement drives for 1U Server.

Not disk sets, but spare drives to replace failed drives on existing server. I know that some members used to keep a few of these spare in case of failures, so hoping maybe with the move to Encore someone might have some lying around surplus to requirements! :)

Please note, I’m based in UK.
 
You should be able to order these from Kaleidescape (but they are expensive).

I’m looking to sell my two Cinema Ones.

Before making a listing, what is the best practice for selling as these have the “grandfathered” account. Do I have to sell them together with my account still attached or somehow change my details on it, or sell separately and completely factory reset prior to selling.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.

The "Grandfathered" status attaches to the Server (Cinema One), not your account. All you need to do before selling is to reset back to DHCP (if you used a fixed IP address), and delete the stored content. The person you sell to will still be able to use the Grandfathered status for importing DVD's.

Because you have two Cinema One's there's an important point, that may or may not be relevant to your system. When you have a system with a mix of Grandfathered and Non-Grandfathered Servers, the full system acts as if it is Grandfathered, and DVD content will import to all Servers, even the non-Grandfathered server. When you separate the Servers from the same system, the non-Grandfathered server will return to the previous status, and will no longer import protected DVD's.
