Correct, if you want all Bond movies, buy the Content Set. You won't beat that price. The Super Bundle appears 2-3 times a year for those folks that only want subsets of the movies. All Connery, all Craig, etc.

You can search the forum. I think it may have gone on sale once in CA but I'm unaware of any US sales.

Bear in mind that you're getting 4K movies from MGM for barely over $10/ea. MGM is one of the worst companies for pricing on K, often providing D2D prices in the $25 range and the same for upgrades from HD to 4K. The Bond Content Set is one of the best deals on all of the K Store; you're getting a nearly $500 discount vs. buying the titles individually at normal price.

I'm new to KScape, so forgive my ignorance:

I have used D2D successfully with quite a few of my favorite movies, mostly for $4.92/movie. There are some where it's not showing any discount at all. Two of these are on this list: Mulan and Aladdin. Both 'on sale' for $14.99, with no difference for my having catalogued it.

Is this typical for Disney, and/or other studios? Any expectation that these titles will have any better pricing through D2D?

Disney does not have great D2D offers. For example, Aladdin is normally priced at $24.99. The D2D for that title is $21.67. Since it is currently on sale for $14.99, it is showing that price. If the D2D offer is lower than a sale price, it will show the D2D price. Basically, it will show you the lowest price available to YOU.

Many thanks for this.

In the same way that regular prices vary over time, with sales coming and going, does the D2D price also vary? I'm just trying to get a feel for when to pull the trigger for titles with less than ideal prices. If the D2D prices are constant, and don't vary, then I'll need to make my decisions accordingly.

They can only get worse, not better. For example, Fox used to have good prices and D2D deals like Warner, Universal, etc. (the "good" studios). When Disney bought them, they raised the prices on all of the titles and aligned the D2D prices to their own. Disney, MGM, etc. (the "bad" studios) aren't even worth scanning a disc. Just wait for sales.

When Disney bought them, they raised the prices on all of the titles and aligned the D2D prices to their own. Disney, MGM, etc. (the "bad" studios) aren't even worth scanning a disc. Just wait for sales.

So, which are the 'Good' studios and which are the 'Bad', other than the ones you mentioned?
 
I think he covered all the “bad” studios (Disney, Fox and MGM, which is now owned my Amazon). The other major studios offer good D2D offers. The smaller studios are mostly not even available on Kaleidescape.

Warner is good for movies but not as good on TV Shows. In fact, in general, studios have different D2D for TV Shows and it's never as good as the handling of movies. Things also change a lot for concerts, where you'll generally find very small discounts (Mercury Studios, etc.). Smaller studios (Kino Lorber, Well Go USA, Shout!) can be all over the map, but generally favor smaller discounts.

Warner, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Sony, and Lionsgate are all generally good but there's still exceptions. I have a number of legacy titles from all of these studios that offer nearly no discount, including for old SD only titles.

Basically it just comes down to how much you want a title. Either grab it with the small discount or wait for a sale. Just be careful with more obscure titles as there's always the possibility that something goes out of circulation. I was waiting for some Warner TV Shows to go on sale and then they disappeared forever. :/
 
It appears like the movie "Nosferatu" is on sale now on K. I noticed that the 4K disc version contains an Extended cut. I also noticed that the differences seem minimal. Has anyone actually compared the two versions? It seems worth getting the K theatrical version for half the cost of the disc containing the Extended version. What do you think?

The Extended Cut is available on K in 4K SDR (DV on disc and other digital stores). As an Eggers film, the palette is already very desaturated so the difference you’ll see is very minimal. Feel free to buy on K. :)
