Movie Updates

Ghostbusters I & II received a DV update, along with some other improvements that I haven’t been able to figure out (I know this because I see it in my updates list and I don’t have a Strato V)
Most of the Special Features from Ghostbusters have been removed. The few remaining (as well as Deleted Scenes) have been downgraded to SD. According to K’s comments last Summer, this should be corrected in time. However, if you currently use a Strato C, you might want to hang on to your HD download for now,

The D2D pricing was great, at $4.92, but I then noticed it's 4K, but not HDR - SDR only! I'm holding off because of this.
You should consider doing it anyway, since pricing is by resolution, so SDR/HDR/DV are all the same entitlement.

The Extras from 2 were also removed, good to confirm that was really the store version (not just pulling the BD extras forward.) Although, looks like those SD extras are new, since they don't appear to match to existing download or disc. Manually updated the 4k copy by redownloading, but it should reappear under updates once they get re-posted.

Ghostbusters 2 only had 2 SD Extras when I downloaded it before the Strato V was released. As no HD Extras were present, I haven't been tracking it for V Compatibility. (I'm still tracking Answer the Call, as I think it's highly likely we'll lose the Extended Cut on that one, which is the only reason to have the HD version at all.)

Thanks, and understood. The other part of my question is how likely it is that it will get the HDR update?

I have the movie on 4k/HDR disc already, and if I wanted to watch it, I'd prefer seeing it with HDR, so would just play the disc. Adding it to KScape would be purely for the convenience, not wanting to have a reduction in picture quality.

Is this a common occurrence, and if so, how likely is it that they'll add HDR10 to it?
Ah, you've stumbled on one of my personal pet peeves with the store. Congrats. You can read up more on this thread:

Common? In 2023, certainly. Nowadays? It seems to mostly affect RLJ Entertainment titles, which makes me think something more complex than simple cost cutting is at play.

To date, this is incredibly unlikely. I've been tracking just under 100 titles and in the years I've been watching I've seen 2 titles come off the list. Now, with the advent of the Strato V, there is a new possibility: The title is popular and gets a Dolby Vision update, during which K adds the HDR version.

Same boat here. I reached out to K about this early on and they said to buy the titles you want to see updated, as titles with lower sales are less likely to get attention (Catch 22). Well, I officially own hundreds of titles I will never watch on K. D'oh!

Thanks for an extremely helpful reply, which precisely addresses my concerns.

Definitely a Catch 22 situation - based on your extensive experience, I'll just sit on the sidelines for this.

And speaking of Catch 22, it's only available in 1080p/SDR!! :p

Must be a timing thing (V compatibility wasn't the first time extras fell off an update - such as when going from 20th anniversary to 25th anniversary.) Luckily, it's rare when the entire extras package changes, with some adds or drops, and no way to get the full slate. My system shows the disc was ejected but all the extras are still available.
