Movie Updates

Michael Clayton (2007) in HD from Warner Bros. updated to DTS-HD Master 5.1 from Dolby Digital 5.1
(this may also have had its video encode updated for Strarto V comaptibility since the disc was a VC-1 encode)

So glad to see Fury getting updated with an atmos track…along with Dolby Vision.

I already cataloged the disc, was hoping the 5.1 track would get updated soon.

Spider-Man: Far from home is also updated with Dolby Vision

At last 👏

I just watched the Kaleidescape copy a couple of weeks ago and then rented the disc in order to have the Atmos audio; and then this happens. Glad it did, but wish I had known a couple weeks age.

I did compare the Fury Road versions early on and saw zero differences between them.
Interesting. What display was it? I have a G2 and running the intro to the first Spiderverse movie through UB820 with display doing the HDR10 tone mapping vs the player vs iTunes Dolby Vision all produce different highlight detail results in car head lamps and the sun. TV’s tone mapping tends to prefer maintaining brightness at the cost of color in the sky of some scenes on Fury Road and the first Banderas Zorro movie.

Disappointed that only the DV version has Atmos not the HDR10 version. Same with Transformers, only the DV version has Atmos. Those who have Strato C can't get Atmos with these movies as we can't download the DV version. Hope its not the trend. I noticed newer releases have Atmos in both DV and HDR10 versions.

This why I keep my 4K blu ray player in the mix. It has been available for many years in 4K Dolby Atmos (100GB disc).

I went back and looked at Mike's statement in the DV thread and the last part of his statement says that the HDR10 Transformer movies are making their way through K's transcoding process to add Atmos.

I just checked the K store and it looks like all of the HDR10 Transformer movies now have Atmos, except for the 1986 cartoon movie.

I just now checked (Show Audio Tracks) and 1, 2, and 3 still do not indicate that Atmos is included with HDR10. Is this where you looked as well?

You're right. I didn't click on Show Audio Tracks. I just looked at the top of the info card where the audio track and picture resolution are located.

Hmm they still show Atmos only on DV version for me.

Shaun of the Dead is getting a new release on UHD with DV and Atmos. Wondering if those enhancements will make it over to K's version

Looks like the studio is "Universal" so there's a good possibility that it will be available on K.
