Damn, I requested the DTSX and Atmos mixes for these but the fact they haven’t been updated with those must mean Universal still aren’t offering them for digital!

Was really hoping that Oblivion was getting a Dolby Atmos upgrade. It’s a shame that Universal Studio’s isn’t offering upgrades on there 4k hdr versions on Kscape.

It’s not everything, it’s basically just most pre-2022 releases, even when the HD versions have Atmos. Evidently they either don’t want to or can’t request the disc assets on older stuff as they did update Jurassic Park/World when they re-released them in Atmos (previously they were DTSX) so anything new as far as I’ve seen always get the Atmos tracks.

Be curious to see the feedback on Oblivion for the video update. This title has always looked softer than the HD release (even on disc), so curious if this is just a compression update from Kscape or an update to the master.

Universal does offer Atmos on this title; it's available on other digital stores. The fact that it's not on K means that the studio is only offering lossy Atmos, which K rejects in favor of lossless 5.1. But, yes, it does suck that Universal doesn't offer lossless Atmos digitally.

So "Bourne Identity" is one of the worst 4K transfers in the history of the universe. It's the only title I keep as an HD version instead of 4K. I wonder if this new update is a new color grading? Or just some unnoticeable "upgrades?"

Both titles include the Extended Cut as a second feature (not Extra). You can click on the Show Features link on their listing to see. Since it’s a single “title” I think the two cuts have to share metadata so it would make sense that it shows theatrical cut attributes.
That's terrible communicating on K's part. Because there are many movies that they do NOT extended cuts of in 4K, it would be good to know that these titles do exist at the K store. This whole time I assumed they only had the theatrical releases in 4K. (Same for "Robocop.")

It's even more fun that that. There are "hidden" alternate cuts in the store as well. For instance, Tropic Thunder's HD version is the Director's Cut while the 4K is the Theatrical Cut. I'm pretty sure there's a handful of these (I think The Doors is another). I'd have to go back and check, but I'm a big fan of Alternate Cuts and when I was trying to make a list of all of the "missing" ones I found that they actually were present... just hard to find.

I feel like we may need a list of "hidden" alternate cuts!

Off the top of my head, The Doors, Tropic Thunder, and Stripes come to mind. King Kong's (Peter Jackson's) alt cut used to be hidden on the store as a separate purchase but got exposed when I called that out. Spider-Man 2.1 is in HD on Spider-Man 2 but I think that's called out on the listing. (You really need to click "Show Features' anywhere it appears.). I'll see what else I can come up with. At one point I got all the ones I could find, downloaded them in the right order to give them unique artwork, etc.

Right now we're in the age of "temporarily (?) missing" alternate cuts due to the Strato HD Compatibility effort. Right now the following had their alt cuts removed for compatibility and they haven't returned yet:
Alien 3
Alien Resurrection
Alien vs. Predator
Bad Santa*
Green Lantern
Little Shop of Horrors, The
Rocky Horror Picture Show, The
That Thing You Do!

In addition, Suicide Squad and Das Boot merged their downloads following updates. So while you used to be able to download just one cut you now must download both, taking up more space on your server.

*Bad Santa's alternate cut removal is permanent per K. Previously this purchase included the Director's Cut and Extended Cut. All three cuts, including Theatrical, are now available individually from the current distributor. K made the call to replace everyone's purchase of the prior cuts with the Theatrical Cut. If you still have the old download you have those two cuts. When you update you will lose them. V, E, and M owners can only access the Theatrical Cut.

You can "separate" them and have unique artwork for each one? Or will it be the same artwork for both? For example, with "Furiosa," you can have 2 separate covers for each version, depending on how you download them?? Won't K simply combine them when you download both?

Correct, if both are downloaded then they'll get the same artwork.

Download HD "Alternate Cut"
Change Artwork
Download 4K Theatrical Cut

Now you should see the standard artwork and the 4K version and when you go to Play Version and pick you'll see the HD version with the alternate artwork (preferably something that denotes Director's Cut or the like).

The most difficult one I found is the director’s cut of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. It does not say anything on the info in the store but still available in the SD download.

Could be good thing to start a new thread with these hard to find alternative cuts.

That's interesting. US or UK store? Or, perhaps you have an earlier purchase? Currently, the US Store doesn't have an SD download at all.

Boogie Nights HD (1997) updated with Dolby Atmos audio track, added extras and "player-compatibility improvements."

US store. Bought it in Fabruary 2022. At that time it had also SD but no info that it was the longer version in the SD download. I still see the SD now but still with no info. If I sign out of the store the SD version disappear.

Ah, yes, you must have a version that is no longer for sale. You can see it "through" the K Store because they're the same title, but the SD version is now only in your library. So, congrats on that, but no options for would-be future buyers who will have to settle for the DVD if interested.
