That's a good question. Some movies are only available for streaming in SDR, but not many. When the Connery Bond movies came out in Dolby Vision/HDR, K-scape has only upgraded 4 of the 6 to DV-HDR. All other digital platforms have them in DV. I really don't understand their logic regarding not providing the same versions that other Digital provider are able to do.

The same versions are available to K, K sometimes chooses lower quality versions for cost reasons (assumption, but only one that makes sense).

This is a rather infuriating practice that has been covered extensively (by me) on this forum.

Yes, but this is incredibly rare. Maybe 2-3 times in the several years I’ve been monitoring it? The fact is this isn’t an accident. K choose not to pay for HDR, so it’s not something they intend to “fix” because nothing is broken in their view.

When the Connery Bond movies came out in Dolby Vision/HDR, K-scape has only upgraded 4 of the 6 to DV-HDR. All other digital platforms have them in DV.

BTW, I truly believe the Bond titles are an MGM and pipeline issue. I expect to see all 6 updated on K.

Also, for the record, K is the first to update any of these titles to 4K Dolby Vision. Apple and Fandango (Vudu) still have 4K SDR 5.1 titles.

I am all for continued improvements and striving for the best quality but it's only just been released! I can't help but feel that this is a case of measure once cut twice. That is to say if K had gotten the audio and video right in the first place it wouldn't need updating so soon. Especially since the resources could be better spent fixing the quality issues with the rest of their catalogue.

Surely I can't be the only person that has issues with the optics of quality updates to such a new release?
