Last movie watched

Men in Black 1997, Men in Black

Well worth the D2D! I'm delighted to share that the music audio has been cleaned up on this first one, I have yet to watch the others but all 3 of my MIB HDR disks have some odd distortion associated to the music, voice and FX are fine.

Happy movie viewing!

Glad to here your thoughts, I thought it looked and sounded great 👍

Rental Family is a great film. Amazing creativity and reference quality video. Price dropped to $14.99.

How it was totally overlooked by Oscar nominations is surprising. I would have expected at least a screen play nomination.

thanks! does sound good... will add to our list!

Wonderful movie; just fantastic. Weird, quirky, and tons of character. Well written and well executed. I don't want to spoil anything. Look at the poster. Look at the creative team. Still in? You're gonna have fun. Don't Die.

UPDATE: Actual conversation with my wife afterwards:

Me: "That was great, and so well done."
Her: "That's because they gave them the money to do it right."

So, obviously, I looked up the budget... $20M!!! Insane! (No, I'm not missing a zero.)

Unfortunately, it didn't find a place at the box office and made $8M. Reminds me of "The Creator" where it looked like a big budget blockbuster but had the budget of a rom com. Yet, it still lost money. D'oh! We can't have nice things. (To be clear, this movie doesn't look like a blockbuster, it's not that type of movie. But, it's VERY well produced.)

Saw Mercy for movie night last night
Everyone really enjoyed it.

I did some catching up on some classics that I never watched. Man that HDR really made the colors pop!

It was really great finally watch these movies. Highly recommended if you missed these as I had. Really great special effects for almost 100 year old movies.

The Invisible Man (1933)

The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)

Frankenstein (1931)

The Mummy (1932)

Dracula (1931)

Was pleasantly surprised to find this in 4k/Atmos. I’m a die hard war movie buff (especially WW2 films). So this was right up my alley. Great film and awesome atmos track. Rami Malek another brilliant performance. Highly recommend a watch.

On another note, I was convinced that John Goodman was playing the role of Hermann Göring. It however turned out to be Russell Crowe. 🤣

Yeah really enjoyed this. I thought Russell was great in this. Out of curiosity what other war films would you recommend.

Here are some which I would easily recommend:

I was caught a little off guard how good this Atmos track was. Much more happening than would typically be done for this type of movie, but it was done perfectly. Very nice audio indeed.

Really enjoyed this movie. Watched last month.

Great escape is awesome. One of my all time favorites.

I have 3 versions of the 4k; arrow Ltd edition, Kino Lorber and a rare out of print German edition mediabook.

I would also add couple of the following:

(Probably my numero uno war flick of all time)

Ugh! This was BAD! Good soundtrack if that is a saving grace?
