Last movie watched

Watched Spidey Brand New Day yesterday and thought it was awesome! PQ and AQ were top notch and movie itself was a blast.
My brother called it cinema champions league

I finished Fight Club last night and MI:3. MI:2 and 3 are my least favorite of the series and I skipped 2.

Fight Club needs no review on the plot/story. I'll speak to the PQ and AQ. All top notch! Loved every second of it. Great transfer and the DTS track leaves nothing to be desired. Probably my favorite credit scene roll of all time. The sound track is killer.

MI:3 I don't like so much because of PSH. Story wise, I like it but the McGuffin of the "rabbit's foot" is a bit of a stretch. Anyhow.... the PQ is pretty solid, very good transfer. The AQ on the other hand, was a bit harsh on the high end. I wanted to grab the remote and turn down the treble on my system. I've never wanted to do that on any movie, even during the Matrix "Guns, Lots of Guns" scene. I deleted 3 from my system and doubt it will return unless my wife wants to watch it and I'm sure she'll complain.

Fight Club is obviously reference material all around.

Watched The Frighteners last night. The new 4K looks and sounds great on K. This was Jackson’s last film before tackling The Lord of the Rings. Fun film with elements of Zemeckis, Raimi, and Burton.

Thank you for your evaluations, especially the Picture and Audio quality.
I really appreciate those recommendations, as that is part of reason to get the maximum output from our systems.
Especially with 4KC movies, although there are many HD movies that have great quality,

It would be nice if people listed their system specs in their signature and specified whether they watched the 4KC or the regular 4K...

Done
As I own a Strato V, I would watch best 4K (non cinematic) version available
I'm not so concerned with visual quality per say (its important but #2 overall), but audio is most important to me in my enjoyment of a movie. I hate Dolby Atmos. DV and possibly Cinematic w/ DV I'd hate as well. I don't need colors that make my eyes bleed. I already saw that on my uncalibrated 65" TV playing TP:Maverick. All colors were punched up. I like the nice even tone of standard HDR. Also, razor sharp image and picture.

Both PQ and AQ for me. My Oppo with a physical disc inserted will still have best of both worlds as audio on K is not as good as the disc. But that has to do with the hardware, not the source

I'm the opposite. If it isn't 4KC and Atmos I'm not interested.

DTX:X > DTS-MA upmixed > DAtmos > Everything else.

Don't get me wrong, PQ is of the utmost importance but I'm not going to pixel peep and look at "Fake Grain" or what ever. As long as it is sharp and has good colors, I'm good. I mean what else is there?

Oppo Prices are getting insane. My Sony is supposed to be on par with the 203 but it doesn't support DV but that's not an issue for me. I always lusted after the Oppo's.

Wednesday I saw Digger, posted a thread about it. Loved it.

Last night I saw The Devils, the 1-night-only 4K restoration of the director’s cut. At 10pm. Holy crap. Incredible and insane. The Name of the Rose meets Caligula.

I must have both for my theater!

Watched Matchbox and Mayday back2back on ATV+. Mayday has some nice throwback/ old school, 80’s / 90’s vibes to it and a refreshing change from the general fare out there in recent times. Matchbox was a typical high octane 🍿 flick, featuring John Cena.

Audio and video was amazing on both the streams. Matchbox in particular has a badass atmos track.

Hopefully these become available on K à la Greyhound, Fly me to the Moon etc.

Tried to watch Fall 2: Deadpoint yesterday and I was not happy at all :(
Tried both the DV and SDR version but both had the audio / video out of sync. Anyone else had this issue?

Went for 'The Death of Robin Hood' instead and was surprised how good the Audio and Picture quality was, outstanding. Movie itself is great too 👌

Apparently a known issue due to AI dubbing and ADR. What a waste 🤮

Good to hear something positive about Robin Hood!

Watched Project Hail Mary on UHD Disc. Slowly upgrading my hardware, picked up some new amps to separate channels and offload my AVR. Still fantastic. Nothing that hasn't been said about this fantastic movie but I try not to watch it so much so as to not tire of it.

I started watching Transformers (2007) with the new audio. All the other Bay movies ruined this one for me. With its new track and not seeing it in such a long time, I started enjoying it. Sound track is much more solid with Atmos. It is much more solid of a movie than I give it credit for. Just a little though, Michael Bay is the Dollar General of the movie world......

Watched Nobody 2. I think I enjoyed this more than the 1st. Amazing PQ (cinematic) and audio. Bob Odenkirk is a legend. FYI, he is featured in Normal and I enjoyed watching that as well.
