I think it actually relates to Dolby not having specifications for home projectors using Dolby Vision yet, and thus none of the manufacturers can add it, as Dolby would not license at this time. The manufacturers I have spoken to in the past would like too add, but no route yet.

Quite correct. I recall someone mentioning a few years back that Lumagen can't do Dolby Vision because Dolby won't even license it to video processors, Dolby wants it limited to the display or player. Shame! Though both Lumagen and MadVR accomplish in effect what Dolby Vision could at best do anyway with advanced tone mapping.
