KEAOS Software Comments and Requests

I think it actually relates to Dolby not having specifications for home projectors using Dolby Vision yet, and thus none of the manufacturers can add it, as Dolby would not license at this time. The manufacturers I have spoken to in the past would like too add, but no route yet.

Quite correct. I recall someone mentioning a few years back that Lumagen can't do Dolby Vision because Dolby won't even license it to video processors, Dolby wants it limited to the display or player. Shame! Though both Lumagen and MadVR accomplish in effect what Dolby Vision could at best do anyway with advanced tone mapping.

Howdy folks!

There's going to be a proper customer email announcement once the software has finished rolling out to all systems, so I won't get into everything that will be in that, but the biggest thing you're likely to notice are some improvements in the 'Add to Collection" menu in the movie details sheets. The system collections have been moved to the top of the menu, in a separate group (this is things like Watch Soon, Favorites, the Child collection if you have a Child remote). We've also added the Played collection to that list, so you now have an easy way to mark movies as having been played or, conversely, to send them back to the New collection (by un-checking Played).

The menu item to create a new collection has been moved to the bottom of the menu.

More info to follow in the official email.

Enjoy!
Good stuff Mike.
Don't know if it's under consideration, but it would also be great if the "Rename Collection" and "Delete Collection" could be moved to the bottom of the movies lists in the Collections view in the strato interface. (as they are not frequently (never for me) used.)

One feature request I have is for the movies in the collection to be sorted by ascending release date instead of by name or have that as an option. I have a collection for all the Marvel movies and would love to see them in the right order.

Regarding MCU movies, if you Google the topic you will see the chronological order of the MCU storyline or movie release order. The chronological storyline order helps to make more sense of the series vs just watching in release order.

Having said that I like your K feature idea.

It's not like I will sit down and watch 30+ movies in order. 🤣 I do like seeing my collection in the right order, especially my Star Wars collection!

Give us the capability to put multiple disc CD's that are not recognized by the music guide db under a single album art.
