To commemorate this forum's 20th birthday (!), Jim @cinelife has generously offered up an incredible $2,000 in Kaleidescape Movie Store credits to give away... $100 for each year of our operation!

Here's how to enter (no purchase required!) and how it will work.

DATE / BASIC INFO:

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, we will be doing a drawing and the randomly selected winners will receive credits in the Kaleidescape Movie Store that can then be used to purchase movies for your Kaleidescape system.​

PRIZES:

There will be 10 winners drawn for a total of $2,000!​

• Six (6) "Runners Up" names drawn, each receiving a $100 credit in the movie store
• then three (3) "Big Winners" names will be drawn, each receiving $300 credit!
• then ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE winner will be drawn, receiving $500 credit

ELIGIBILITY:

All registered*, active** members of the forum will automatically have their names entered for the contest. You don't need to request entry, it will all be automatic if you qualify as per below. There is no cost to enter and no purchase required, as there is no cost to be a basic member of this forum.​

• * "Registered" means that the user has a registered name and account on the forum as of 11:59pm on Friday, June 26, 2026 (the Qualification Deadline).
• ** "Active" is defined as having posted at least one message somewhere on the forum in the 60 days prior the Qualification Deadline. This rewards those participating here and prevents dormant accounts from winning a prize here when it may prove difficult to reach them.

EXCLUSIONS:

• Employees of Kaleidescape, Inc. are not eligible
• Admins of this forum are not eligible.
• Anyone who has created multiple accounts on the forumin an attempt to enter more than once will be ineligible, be banned from the forum, and have all accounts, posts, and messages permanently removed.
  • (a.k.a. "don't be a jerk" rule, a.k.a. "don't abuse Jim's generosity" rule).

BONUS ENTRIES!! :

This forum exists and persists thanks to the generosity of the Premium members and Patrons who voluntarily contribute funds to offset the cost of running the service.​

As a reward for their generosity, Premium members and Patrons (submitted and paid as of the Qualification Deadline) will receive "bonus entries" giving them a greater chance of winning a prize:​

• PREMIUM members will get 1 bonus entry, i.e. their names will appear 2 times in the final list of names for each drawing.
• PATRON members will get 2 bonus entries, i.e. their names will appear 3 times in the final list of names for each drawing.

PRIZE LIMIT: one per household:

After each draw, the winner's name(s) are REMOVED from the remaining spins of the wheel, so no one can win more than one prize.​

MECHANISM FOR CHOOSING AND NOTIFYING WINNERS:

As of the Qualification Deadline (shown above), the forum software will generate the list of member names who qualify for the drawing, as described above. Premium and Patrons will have their names repeated as per the Bonus Entires description above and the full list of names will be finalized.​

We will use the free public online service "WheelOfNames.com" which the forum team here believes to be fair, random, and unbiased. It has been used by many sites and organizations for many years and we've used it very successfully here on the forum for several previous drawings. You can try it and see how it works by clicking the link here: KOF Test Movie Credits drawing (the names on that wheel are from a past drawing, and are NOT the actual finalized list of names that will be used for this drawing.)​

We will attempt to capture a video showing the wheel being spun and the winner being chosen for each prize, and that video will be posted here in the forum. It's possible that the video capture may not work, and in that case we will post a screenshot of the winner's name showing on the wheel website as the chosen winner. After each win, the winners name(s) will be removed from the master list, and the next spin will be started.​

Winners will be notified on the forum by a post here in this thread, by Private Message here, and if necessary, by email.​
