Josh.ai

I'm extremely interested in X4 and will be updating (some) hardware in preparation. (I hear that they'll be running upgrade sales when X4 ships, but my wife is eager for Apple Music on home audio so we'll probably pull the trigger early.)

When I've looked into Josh, the only distinct advantage I saw was the room-specific awareness. So, you can say "Open Drapes" and it'll only open the drapes in the room you're in. Of course, this is based upon having a device listening in every (applicable) room. But, still, that would be nice.

If anyone knows of other specific reasons to look at Josh.ai again within context of C4 X4, I'd love to hear them.

I only got Josh because of this and also stacking multiple commands.

Like I can say close blinds, lights at 25% and play eagles.

Biggest negative I have is they don't integrate with Roon. Not sure who is stopping that. If they do that I will be a happy camper.
 
A friend has Crestron controlling his theater and is wanting to use voice commands using Josh.ai to control his K Premiere (3U/M-500) system. Has anyone posting here done that successfully? I told him I'd ask on the Forum.

I had it with Control4. After a few days it became apparent that JoshAI was “teaching me” how to talk to him. It got tiresome speaking “precisely” for him. Lots of repeats until I got it right—over and over.

I am using Josh with Control4. It is okay. I also feel Josh support is not that great.
