High(er) Bandwidth HDMI Cabling

Calm-One

As technology matures, often one finds themselves in need of improving some supporting items.

In my case I have a couple long HDMI 1.2 based runs (75' and 50').

With new features like HDMI eARC (and ARC) if you have recently completed a project where longer HDMI runs were required and did not use wireless extenders or other mean, what brand/model HDMI cables did you end up with?

I believe I would like to have HDMI 2.1 cabling support 48Gbs when the time comes for a better than 4K panel assuming 8K gains dominance at some point.

I found FIBBR announcing something at the last CEDIA but cannot find anything since. Plus it appears directional suggesting eARC is not in the cards. ref: https://www.fibbrtech.com/details.php?id=1

Thoughts?

From the installers I’ve had out to look at connector runs of of 40’ to the 4K projector, they are all recommending fiber optic cable with hdmi ends.

I recently ordered a 50' Pinnacle4K cable from Chromis Technologies and have been pleased with its performance with 4K HDR content in deep color modes on my Strato. Trying the same content with another recently purchased "18Gbps" cable (a Metra Install Bay Active Hybrid HDMI Cable that has since been returned), yielded white pixels and dropped/jerky video.

The Pinnacle4K cable is not on DLP list of certified 18Gbps cables, but a representative of Chromis assured me this line is replacing the Procerus4K line which is on the list.

Good luck!
