HD content conversion updates

I didn't realize it's something K could do on request! I'd love it if they separated the Color and Chrome versions of the new Mad Max movies. (Fury Road and Furiosa.) @MikeKobb ?
The Chrome editions are already both discrete downloads (and discrete listings). Right?

The issue with Das Boot was when you triggered an HD download a single file downloaded including both the Theatrical and Director's Cuts, preventing a user from downloading only one. (This was new as a result of the Strato HD upgrade effort. They were previously discrete and have since been updated to be discrete.)

Checked The Full Monty again and it’s definitely showing as compatible in my downloads but I haven’t tried watching it. Bought Ip Man 3 today which isn’t compatible and it doesn’t even give me the ability to download. Either it hasn’t been updated in the list to show as being compatible now or it’s an error letting it be downloaded but don’t have the time to try it at the moment.

It looks like K is on the final (initial) march. I've been seeing daily updates knocking remaining titles off my short list. Of course, these include updates that strip Extras so for me they just move over to the "Do Not Update" list. Unfortunately that list is now at 163, or 42% of the "updates" now representing a "lesser" offering.

yeah, I was stuck at 5 movies left unsupported for months on end, but over the past two weeks or so, I’m down to 1 left.

Previously removed HD Extras have been restored to The Pacific:

Previously removed HD Extras have been restored to Prometheus:
Further, Extras have been added as a separate download allowing 4K viewers access without requiring a full HD download.

Going through the list of newly added HD titles in the compatibility list, I think there is an error on K; it is showing “Rise of the planet of the apes”whereas we were waiting on the “Conquest of the Planet of the apes” compatibility.

I just tried to purchase Conquest… and it didn’t give me the old incompatibility warning message. I had purchased all the POTA titles during a previous sale but had to defer the purchase of Conquest, as it wasn’t compatible at that point.

Conquest got updated a short time ago. They’re dropping dozens of updates a week at this point. Some were previously compatible and are getting further updates, sometimes to the movie itself, sometimes Extras, etc.

Just a note to call out the work K has been doing lately on Strato HD compatibility updates. It's clear that between updated tools and updated assets that K is finally in a place to (hopefully) wrap up this effort. Dozens of updates are dropping weekly and we're seeing regular restoration of Extras (yay!). Kudos to the team for their hard work, and it's great to finally chip away at my "do not update" list.

One note: I recently praised the addition of the Extras package for Logan which restored the Logan Noir cut. Unfortunately this cut is included in a single Extras download. While this is still better than requiring an HD download including the theatrical cut, ideally additional cuts would be dedicated download files as seen on so many other titles. To me, this and Suicide Squad are two titles where the downloads could still use some work.

Hello,

Quick question as I have not read all the thread in detail.

If I were to "download all" in my compatibility list, would previously downloaded non-compatible titles require manual deleting (to make space as a possible issue) or does it all happen automatically? i.e over-write the downloaded volume or delete and re-download etc?

Appreciate your time. Thank you

It will download the new and delete the old, though sometimes when doing it in bulk and your space is already low you might make space for a few movies worth of buffer so everything downloads without size constraints.
