Encore Line FAQ from K

Corrected slightly :)

As for UHD Blu-Ray becoming available in any form for Kaleidescape that is up to the manufacturers releasing the drives to 3rd party companies like Kscape *AND* if Kscape actually want to support the format. Lets not forget there are under 50 discs available right now and if the format dies early then all the R&D will have been for nothing.

Not sure I understood the answer relative to the sentences you underlined in my original post. I'm only referring to 4K content that has been downloaded from the K Store and is residing on either a Strato or Terra (the only possibilities). Playback of this content must be done thru a Strato player, that is the only component capable of playing back 4K.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your point.:)

Sorry I thought you were referring to the merger between the systems and all content not just 4K :)

No worries, I appreciate the input, I certainly don't have all the answers myself.:)

But to be clear, if you own a dvd-grandfathered premiere system, and you buy a 4K strato, and you do the upcoming integration, you will be able to play all content on your premiere system through the strato, including ripped DVDs on the premiere..: right Jim?

It will playback everything except music.

Yes, with exception to music as noted by mbmapit above.
