dv700 rack depth question.

Hi,

Does anyone have a dv700 mounted in a rack? If so, do you need a deeper rack or does it clear the back and hang out the back given that it's 17.5 inches wide.?

The width does not matter as the DV700 will mount in a standard 19" rack. As far as the depth goes the DV700 is 21.9" deep. Depending on your rack this may or may not be an issue.

If your rack is open in the back then it's not a problem but if your rack has rear cover or door then you will have to make sure your rack has a minimum USABLE depth of 23". At 23" you will have enough depth for the DV700, cabling and air circulation.

I can vouch for this... I just last week racked in an M700 in an OmniMount RE42 and we had to remove the back panel to accommodate the bump out. Standard 19-inch rack-ear width to be sure.

Just to clarify. That is 23" from the front of the rack mounts to the back of the unit. So from the mounting ears, back, you need 23" of space.
