Hi,

Did someone already watched DD?
I think with the HDR file the colours are off?
With the KS the colours are very bad in some scènes, to much grey.
When i watched it with madVR the colours are much better, ofcourse its because of madVR doing a better job with tonemapping and PQ in general but this is to much of..
I also watched the 4K SDR file and this was almost the same with my HTPC/madVR, looking good (not great but that is Steven,s intent).

Lumagen DV Cinematic it looked awesome, did not try any other format... I prefer DV Cinematic over other formats so have stopped downloading other formats or comparing.
I didn't care for the movie much...

I watched it on my E. The K is coming..
In some scenes the colors were just TOO dull, the colors looked washed out.
With the SDR file the colors looked good, almost the same as with my HTPC madVR.

It would be helpful if you could say which scenes in particular you think look incorrect. We'd be happy to take a look. Time indexes are most useful.

Watched on my 97 inch Lg G6 OLED via my Strato K Cinematic Dolby Vision and I thought it looked fantastic, razor sharp picture and colors looked good to me. Are you seeing any particular scenes that stand out?

,
Just to follow up on my previous findings regarding the picture quality of Disclosure Day.
I have switched between HDR and SDR a few times now, and I don't think the Kaleidescape is to blame.
The movie simply doesn't have a great look (especially with the HDR file). Personally, I prefer the SDR file. So it is not necessarily an issue with the Kaleidescape.
My apologies for the confusion.

I am using the same format with my Lumagen. Looked really good. My only difference is that we enjoyed the movie. :)

Watched 4K HDR on my Strato V. I thought picture quality was excellent overall. A few scenes were a little soft but many were very sharp. Lumagen to NZ7. A couple scenes utilized some overheads and some surround effects but was mostly a front sound stage movie. I’m undecided on the movie itself. Enjoyable but I think I wanted more out of the story and ending. It needed more backstory. Too much left to the imagination. I know that’s probably the intent and some like that but I thought it deserved more. I don’t think I’m giving any spoilers for those that haven’t seen it.

DD with my HTPC madVR looked fine as well, but with the DTM from my JVC NZ 700 it just looks dull. It is what it is. Tonight we will watch it in our HT in 4K SDR and try to enjoy the movie. I saw it in the theater when it came out and couldn't enjoy it as much as I hoped. Tonight I will watch it with my daughter.

What PJ are you running?

Curious what you are using to get the HTPC MadVR working with Kaleidescape. I was told it doesn’t work for some reason
