Disc Vault will not eject….

Original owner of DV from 2013: always worked well
Now it wanted to eject a disc it could not read, made some nosies, but no disc appeared
I tried eject all DVD’s from the GUI, same thing
It still seems to work otherwise
not good I guess?
 
If it made noises, it was trying to eject but couldn't. The first step to fix would be to detach the front bezel (white plate) that is held on by four friction pins. Just slowly pry it off a bit on each corner until it pops off. That usually allows the disc to eject.

If the drive is failing, that can be a problem as those are not easy to replace and even harder is to find a replacement drive for it as they take a special version of the firmware to be compatible with the Kaleidescape vaults. Hopefully it is just a single bad disc.
 
It went through 2 more cycles where no disc ejected; then it has to identify all discs; the last time it found 4 discs it wanted to eject, and this time I got 4 discs ejected; all with front cover on
