Got my Strato V today, but having issues with disc-to-digital. I have the OWC Mercury Pro 16x player attached.

It seems to work at first, but then the Kscape blinks yellow at the end and the disc doesn't show up on my downloads afterward.

What am I doing wrong? Something simple?

(Terra won't be here for a few days. )

Ok, having some success now, but not with 4K movies. Dune 2 and Ready Player One keep failing.

Well crap, why do they list it? I guess I didn't consider it wouldn't.

Wow, so I can't transfer my 4K discs? I feel stupid. That was a major reason for this purchase.
The very last line on the link says

"While a USB drive that is capable of reading Ultra HD Blu-ray discs may work for cataloging DVDs and Blu-ray discs, the cataloging of Ultra HD Blu-ray discs is not supported."

It said it "may" work for cataloging DVDs and blu rays discs. So if you can find a UHD device that works with this system, you may be able to get it to work. You just wont get a UHD copy, but a blu ray version catalogued.

There's no need to catalog the 4k movies, the Blu-ray disc will give you D2D price to purchase the 4k version if it's available or if it's added at a later date.

At one time, most 4K disc releases would also have the Blu-ray included. Now, many releases seem to be 4K disc only. It is a shame the 4k discs cannot be cataloged.

You do realize even if you "transfer" you have to pay for the download right?

My plan is to replace disc buying with K downloads, anything I already have on disc will remain there but going forward everything will be purchased through K.

I guess ive been lucky...since getting Strato V last week I have cataloged about 50 discs...12 of those were 4k only and only one of those failed.

Using Pioneer USB slim drive w/ ext power supply.
Just out of interest what model number is that drive? and did the external power option come with it or have you used something else to adapt it? Thanks

of note: the BDR-XD08UMB-S i have i made sure to get with firmware 1.0 since that was important for ripping. I made sure to not updated it...i believe the new firmwares changed some things. No clue if any of that applies to Kscape disc to digital but thought I should mention that the one I have been having great luck with has f/w 1.0.

Works great, able to catalogue 4K UHD discs.
Most of the time they show up as HD so I can get the D2D.

Another nice thing to do to be able to see all our movies including 4K movies not available on the Store is to catalogue a blank disc, then I input all the information in browser interface and do the 4K cover art. So then it shows on on Cover interface and Then know I need to switch over to my Zappiti to watch it.

OK, I was able to use the blu-rays to catalogue as mentioned for those that included that in the package. Thanks for the reminder on that (I tend to forget those are in there.) Most are $4.92 to transfer, which is worthwhile for favorite discs for sure.

My remaining complaint is that we can't delete digital offers if we choose not to do it. Why is that? It creates clutter.

I also found online a resolution to the Harmony issues I was having. DON'T use the "Strato C" choice when programming the Harmony Hub/remote. Use the "K-PLAYER-2500" model number option, and you get way more programmed keys going in. I only had to program the "chapter next" and "chapter previous" into my usual buttons.

Most cost $4.92 to transfer. Others are more, so I don't do those unless I really want that easy to access on the Kscape.

Once I get through my collection, it'll be new buys only of course. Just a one-time process and cost on the front end.

I am using the OWC recommended drive and no UHD discs have been recognized (tried 3). I am not disappointed as I expected it.
