Digger

I just saw this. And absolutely loved it.

A totally unmarketable film for what it is. But so glad I saw it with nothing spoiled. One of my top 3 films of the year, and an early selection for my 8th Dad’s Summer Film Festival next summer.
I may get ridiculed for this, but I really liked it. Can’t wait to revisit it on Kscape when it gets released 😃

The silver lining about movies bombing in dramatic fashion is that it will be on K very soon. But it's WB, so it's gonna be the premium $40 maximum price.
I'll be one of the first suckers to pick it up.

I just hate to see this :(
Granted, few people stay through the credits anyway, and I’m seeing a 12:50pm weekday screening since that fits my schedule. But still. I talked to the manager after, and she confirmed that 3 tickets sold is typical for the film. And also that people either love it or hate it. And that I just talked her into seeing herself.

I luckily live in LA near the AMC Grove, one of five theaters worldwide showing this in VistaVision, and every film nerd in shouting distance has been selling this theater out regularly. And Letterboxd has this highly rated (including by me), so the film does have its cult audience. I think this one is ripe for reclaiming down the line.

I would say there were around 25 people for the showing this past Sunday 😕

That’s really awesome to hear. That plus the fact that so many of you have actually seen it and liked it is very reassuring it will ultimately get the attention it deserves.

Marvel ruined movies
Nah, as much as I might like to agree it's the money men. It's all about the numbers. Very few left, that are making the go or no decisions, that are driven by anything other than money.
