Hi all. Very new KS owner, having just received my Strato E yesterday. I am a long time physical media supporter, have somewhere around 800 discs, mostly 4K Blu-rays. I have mainly preferred discs due to quality, not so much because I am a “collector.” I am also running out of room for my discs, and thought KScape might be my answer. For the most part, my main plan is to just buy most movies on Kscape going forward.

Having said that I do have an external drive on the way so I can take advantage of D2D. If the price is good, or if the movie is an upgrade (higher bit rate, adding Dolby Vision to a movie that was only HDR on disc) I do see myself replacing some of my discs with KS versions. Hopefully I don’t go too crazy though!

I’ve did a good amount of research on D2D and I know MOST studios offer pretty good discounts. I also know Disney does not. Me and my family are longtime Disney fans, owning lots of animated films to Marvel to Star Wars, so I have a lot of Disney content on disc. I know I will be lucky to get $5 off my digital offers for most of them. My question is, do special pricing D2D offers stack with Kscape sales? Or am I Likely to see a better savings just waiting for a movie I want to go on sale vs using a D2D discount when it comes to Disney titles?

For Disney, Fox, the sales are the best price, especially bundles. See Star Wars sale as an example. I did find d2d useful for new catalog releases like Kingdom of Heaven, Tron Legacy, Master and Commander, etc.
You may have to wait months for a sale.
So something like the upcoming Fight Club 4k release, you'll save a few dollars. $21.xx vs $24.99
Welcome to the club. I also invested in a K because I was running out of media space. And now K is actually more gentle on the wallet vs 4k disc purchases, even with sales.

I keep realizing more advantages of KS, beyond the initial ones that made me take the plunge. The cost of entry was high, I still kind of can’t believe I have one, but I think I am going to love it. I realized that with KS, I can just wishlist a movie and wait for a sale, not having to worry about hunting down a physical disc. I also am not at the mercy of Disney’s 4K exclusive steelbooks anymore.

You mean you don't want to be paranoid about your pre-order even being fulfilled, whether it'll be delivered on day one or weeks later, and if it'll arrived damaged or not? You're at the mercy of not only Disney, but also Amazon, USPS, and scalpers if you're impatient.
You made the correct investment as you're not purchasing as a "collector" but as a cinephile.

I was thinking about upgrading all my Star Wars discs to KS and I see the current sale is MUCH better for the 9 main movies.
Another way you could check/compare past prices is by entering the name of the title (individually or if it’s part of a bundle), in the search function located on top of the website.

I am new as well, and didn't realize how much fun it would be to add movies I enjoyed or heard good things about to my wish list through the app.

Has Tron: Legacy seen a good sale yet?

Love this reply, but yeah exactly. Zootopia 2 has been especially bad. I was very close to buying the Steelbook on ebay for like $70. So glad I didn't. I've also tried to be a bit more picky about purchases, or ask myself if I really need to buy a certain movie at all if it's on Disney+ or whatever. Like Zootopia 2. It isn't the best, but at least it is Dolby Vision and Atmos. I still am going to try to really think about purchases going forward, but now I have the best digital option whenever I want it.

I just bought the 9 Star Wars movies on sale after discovering my 4K discs with slips are fairly valuable on ebay!
