We purchased this six months ago as our first foray into the platform. We’ve since filled it up and have already upgraded to a larger HDD platform. The unit works flawlessly and outperforms the HDD, with downloads in 4-6min over 3Gbs internet across our 2.5Gbs household network.

I think they have actually written down wrong what model it is. It’s a compact terra prime ssd not a mini which is the smaller chassis so they are underselling what it is.

The 8TB compact was always $9995 before it became unavailable due to memory prices/shortage.

Yeah I’d have to go back and look at what I paid for it originally but if you’d like to purchase an 8TB SSD unit with 2.5G Ethernet that’s only 7 months old for substantially less than you’d pay for it new I’m happy to sell it to you

So the listing is filled with errors if you are correct (wrong pricing, wrong model, etc.). Who knows what is or is not accurate?

Yes indeed it is the “compact” form factor featuring SSD with the higher speed “Terra Prime” architecture.

Ok OCD….

I’ve updated the post to reflect the model number of the unit which is also seen in the photos. This storage option was indeed changed from “compact” chassis to “mini” just after I purchased it.

I believe it represents a solid value compared to purchasing new at the current market cost but by all means give more feedback.

Please let me know what else I can do to change your opinion from “who knows..” to “ok we now now”

regardless of the cost was in the past, its now $9995. The OP has the right to set his price and the market will dictate wether he’s right or not.

I’ve transacted with the seller before and he’s a stand up guy, fwiw

A slight naming error is pretty minor, it’s clearly not a mini Terra prime because the mini uses the same chassis style as the Strato E/M whereas the compacts use the same style as the C/V and the SSD models were in jet black so very easy to see what it is from the pictures.

The mini Terra prime didn’t release until November 2025, 8 months ago and massively undercut the compact Terra Prime SSD. So yeh, regardless of what they paid, that model was never below $9995 RRP and is no longer available.

And I have an 8TB mini Terra prime SSD too so I know for a fact that isn’t it.
