Just to say I had Claude clean up my movie library foe me - did a really good job - just pointed it at the local web browser and gave it basic instructions! This was its final result - took a few hours as we know the interface is slow!

My prompt was - I have a kaleidescape movie system and need to delete some content using their web interface. Ideally duplicates - deleting lower quality formats and keeping only 1 high quality format.

It asked me a couple of questions, we did a trial run and once that worked off it went. I have the chrome plugin for Claude which allows it to access local web pages once I give it permission.

this is great. I'm wondering though, since the web UI doesn't accurately indicate movie-extras vs. the actual movie, if it ended up deleting all your extras and bonus stuff... which may be fine if you don't care about this. The reason I point this out is that I accidentally deleted dozens of "extras" form the web interface as it appeared that those were just "duplicate" HD versions of movies I had in 4K-DV or 4K-C... sure, get rid of those extra HD versions. Only later did I discover what I had done... a real pain, as I like those extras.

It sucks that Kaleidescape doesn't show "Extras" in the web-interface for deleting versions of your supposedly-duplicate versions.

Yes - I don't have any extras (to save space) so not an issue for me.

Example conversation from yesterday when I asked Claude about new cinematic updates in the store. To make all this work I do need to leave a tab in chrome always open on the store but that is not much hassle (and have the Chrome Claude add-in and Claude desktop loaded). Having had a long conversation about my particular system it was clear I should be using HDR10 and not Dolby Vision versions.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

It lists 15 titles. 13 of them are worth taking. Each has only an ordinary 4K copy on the system now, and a new Cinematic HDR10 version is available:

  • Black Bag
  • Black Panther
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
  • Inside Out
  • Jumanji: The Next Level
  • Divergent
  • Insurgent
  • Ender’s Game
  • Warrior
  • Mechanic: Resurrection
  • The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
  • Trolls (Party Edition)
  • The Angry Birds Movie (currently only 4K SDR, so this one’s a big step up)
Two to skip:
  • Venom: you already have the Cinematic HDR10 copy from last week. This is the old listing still showing up.
  • Transformers (2007): you have the Cinematic Dolby Vision copy, and there’s no HDR10 version. It’s one of the DV-only titles we agreed to keep.
The 13 come to about 1.3 TB, which fits easily in the room for 141 Cinematic downloads. Combined with the 5 now in the queue, that’s about the 18 your app shows.

Do you want me to queue the 13? I’ll use the same checks: Cinematic HDR10 and no price before confirming?
