Vudu has BB and dark night i bet they pop by xmas. Now where is interstaellat Imax?:D

Rewording single projector SINGLE LINE ENGINE is impossible. LCOS dual light engine looks like crap. Sorry. Insufficient ANSI cr for natural looking hdr.

Projection is dead, put a fork in it.

That statement is far more accurate but just because the LCOS engine was a poor implementation doesn't mean all of the future projectors will be and there will be 2 big reveals next year that may just surprise you.

As for projection being dead, that's just a stupid comment to make as we all know it isn't. *MAYBE* if the new Samsung Cinema Screen technology catches on and reduces in price and size then projection will be in trouble but for now projectors continue to sell well and be the only good solution for large screen viewing.

When you start looking at things hollistically, personal cinemas with rows of four are already pushing it to get atmos just as in the room where it was invented, so any seating wider than 10 feet is a crime. I understand am not telling you what you want to hear.

but 11 feet wide by 5.5 2.0 aspect ratio flatpanels viewed at the propper distance would negate the need for projection. those can come down in price, if you want HDR that is.

Im knee deep into the tiles but that is not coming down in price any time soon. but rolling oled and 11 foot wide 2.0 aspwect ratio panels would solve 85% of HT problems.

I'm not disagreeing with you that most private cinemas installed these days have many compromises but just because "we" know best that projectors are dead, does it? They will continue to sell and sell well because it's what people want (big screen viewing at the right price points). They are also the same people who think HDR on the current projectors look good .

Rolling OLED could be the future but only if they fix the issues, reduce the price and increase the size.

Interstellar(HD only) is now available in the store from Paramount.

Anyone know yet whether these titles have the mixed aspect ratio versions?
