Sofabaton has fired a shot. If you're satisfied with primarily IR control for your theater, the X2 deserves a SERIOUS look.

Initial impressions:
Thanks for creating the video! Good info! In addition to the IP info that I previously mentioned, I would like to know more about the hand feel of the remote. Specifically, what are the buttons made of (soft or hard plastic?) and how sturdy the printing of the label buttons are (will the white paint wear off)? Also, are the buttons too small for fingers? I like the large buttons/areas on the AVA's D-Pad. Is there a database on their website showing what equipment is currently compatible (Trinnov?) with the X2? Are the X2 buttons backlit?

I now have two of them and find I REALLY like how it feels in the hand. I did add some non-slip pads to the back and the sides as recommended by someone on Reddit i believe, but even without this it feels very solid in the hand, seems well balanced and has an overall quality feel and heft to it.

Buttons and labels seem perfectly fine so far... don't see any signs that labels will rub off. Buttons don't seem too small for me.

ALMOST all the buttons are backlit. the remote's own "back" button (for going back a level within their UI) isn't backlit... but you just learn quickly it's the bottom left corner of the display screen. And oddly, the master-off physical button at the top isn't backlit either. not sure why they skipped that one. But every other physical button is backlit with UI-controllable dimming level.
