Best showcase titles for 4K Cinematic

Ferrari (Michael Mann) is a strong candidate for this list. Looked superb in C_HDR. Great audio mix as well. Have seen this couple of times earlier on the V.

somehow, even as a car guy AND a Penelope Cruz fan, I've never seen it. Just bought... thanks!

Agreed, really liked Ferrari as well! He was quite a person. Many years ago I had an opportunity to spend a night in the Casa Enzo Ferrari at the Fiorano track during a visit to Maranello to watch one of my cars being built. The history in that place was incredible, I didn't even sleep, just took in the location and all that it represented.

When it was first released it is was only available in Europe d/t Auro3D audio tract. Eventually got released in US without Auro3D. Michael Mann film. In addition to Penelope Cruz, Adam Driver is good as well.

Disturbing scene near the end based on a real event.

Google Massimo Iosa Ghini and Ferrari, he is the world's best Architect and a good friend.

I have that 4k disc (Dutch release with dual Auro-3D and atmos tracks). I actually preferred the Auro-3D mix on the disc. However the Kscape version is arguably the definitive version as it supports cinematic and an awesome atmos mix.

That scene near the end is really freaky.

I know Massimo's work, very nice design of the Ferrari Stores, among other work. VERY talented!

And of all the architects ive worked here and in Europe his company is the one that listened the most intently to the technical suggestions and then elevated the execution beyond good taste. Whereas Zaha Hadid was always introducing assymetry despite the technical requests.

You always work with the best my friend!!

I'm about halfway through Blade Runner 2049 in 4K_C DV. Definitely one of the best Cinematic titles I've seen so far (and I've watched quite a few at this point). Sooooo clean and detailed. Unlike quite a few movies where they occasionally nail the focus plane and everything comes together in a super sharp shot of a face/object, with this one even the simplest shots are outstanding. Just jaw dropper after jaw dropper. 🤯 The detail is off the chart with super complicated footage like all the objects littering the shipyard and even dirt when he finds the date on the tree. Every grain and clump...sharp as a tack. And the gradients...incredibly well resolved. Add it to your short list if you want to show off what the format is capable of.

With my earlier videowall processor that title was too hot in DV so i kept the hdr 10 c, while i prefer 99% of all the movies on Dolby vision, the saturation on that one was a tad too much, but since i just spent half a day setting up a more compact controller that is looking as good as the much bigger previous unit, I'm going to give it a shot again in DV.

Define what you mean by too hot. This movie is barely above SDR for leak levels. Also, the DV version for cinematic had some issues with raised blacks before. Not sure if that is fixed.

Well that must have been quite an experience. (y)

Once in a lifetime....but I should have clarified that the Apt is actually trackside, and you have to be invited, it's not open for public rental.

I don't have the status to get an invitation on my own, I accompanied a good friend of mine that owns a bunch of F cars.

Another friend (D. Lee) has 30+ Ferrari's, but I never asked if he stayed there. We raced together at COTA (Circuit of the Americas) in Austin.
