Came across this while browsing YT. First I have heard of it. I have been clamoring for a HA specific remote.

Hmm, have not heard about that.I'm thinking this may be the company that screwed over Cantata and essentially all their backers. Trust level low.
Ugg, sounds ugly. This was apparently posted on the Haptique Kickstarter as an update to backers. I’m not a backer and do not know the full backstory.
It is clear to us that none of the RS90x backers want the solution we provided. Currently, we do not have the funds to issue refunds, nor do we have a clear timeline for when we can initiate them unless our current efforts become successful. There are literally no sales coming in from anywhere.
The inventory remains in the possession of the factory. These are the same people who created their own version of a remote called "Astrion" for Home Assistant. They used the same electronics found in the RS90 1GB and made it compatible with Home Assistant. We are unsure if they blocked our inventory specifically to release their own model or for another reason. They could have worked with us to resolve our financial situation by releasing a portion of the inventory—at least what they already have funds for but they never agreed. They still have $154,000 USD of our money in their possession. Yes, we had poor judgment regarding our partner selection and in placing our trust there in the first place. This is why we cannot offer you the RS90 as a replacement; we no longer have inventory left from last year’s purchase.
We have no funds, and we do not expect to receive the inventory unless a B2B partner bails us out of this situation. Our bank is willing to support B2B sales by factoring invoices, but we have no buyer yet. If we weren't being transparent, we could have easily closed the business before even committing everything to deliver those few hundred RS90 units.
All of our life savings are on the line at Cantata. You can call it whatever you want, but our €200,000+ investment is significantly more than a backer's individual €400 contribution. Please try to understand this. We have made nothing from this venture yet, so we are doing our absolute best to launch a software solution to return to revenue generation.
Since most of you are rejecting the current offer, we have decided not to proceed with that plan. Instead, we will keep our efforts focused on producing the RS90x and the extenders. We do not know when this will happen, so please stay with us and do not give up. It has been exactly 22 months since the project launch, and we are still working day and night to get it completed.
Our investment in the RS90x and Extender designs alone is over €100,000. We want to get the production done as much as you do. Regarding the RS90, we have improved it to the level we expected the RS90x to reach; it now has all the software features we originally planned for the RS90x. If we reach a point where we can offer a replacement plus some cash back, we will try to do that. There are still 2000 units of the RS90 to be released from the factory and 1,000 units ready to ship, but we are short by €68,000 to break the barrier with the factory.
This is a long shot, but if we manage to get the funds to provide a working product, we will talk with Sofabaton for a mass purchase to ship to the RS90x buyers. We are working toward providing you a solution; perhaps we will be successful enough in selling software that we can refund you first, rather than buying the stuck RS90 inventory. We hope for the best.
The local version of the software will still be provided to RS90 users, but now without HOS (controller software), as it seems there is no value that backers are expecting from it. Instead of people abusing the solution, we will keep that for the B2B market.
Been trying to find out more about this with no luck. Was kinda curious to hear "the other side of the story" before making any judgement. Probably a sign. This was apparently posted on the Haptique Kickstarter as an update to backers. I’m not a backer and do not know the full backstory.

I just finally got around to starting that video and less than a minute in, it's like he's unknowingly answering the question.Been trying to find out more about this with no luck. Was kinda curious to hear "the other side of the story" before making any judgement. Probably a sign.![]()
Its unfortunate because from reading the product forums as well as the HA user forums this looks like the remote I have been wanting. Something built around using HA for everything.I just finally got around to starting that video and less than a minute in, it's like he's unknowingly answering the question.
- "it kinda just came out of the blue"
- "I'd never even heard of Sanytron as a company before, let alone their new Astrion remote"
Well, for that price, buy one and see. Just don't expect long-term support. Maybe you won't need it. Maybe it'll die next year and Sanytron will be operating under a different umbrella. Was actually about to buy it but then was reading on their own forums that currently cannot really do much more than a simple "media player" control...i.e a Apple TV and a TV. no real way for anything like a Harmony/Sofabaton "activity"...yet. They claim its in works...but we know how that goes. Just excited that someone sometime thought that a HA specific remote was a good idea.Well, for that price, buy one and see.
