• Thanks for visiting the Kaleidescape Owners' Forum

This forum is for the community of Kaleidescape owners, and others interested in learning about the system, equipment, services, and the company itself.

It is run by a group of enthusiastic Kaleidescape owners and dealers purely as a service to this community.

This board is not affiliated in any way with Kaleidescape, Inc.
For official technical support, product information, or customer service, please visit www.kaleidescape.com

You can dismiss this box forever by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner of this message.

  • You are currently in "Guest" mode and not logged in with a registered account.

The forum is free to use and most of the forum can be used by guests who are not registered....

... but we strongly encourage you to register for a full account. There is no cost to register for a full account.

Benefits of registering for a full account:

    • Participate in the discussions! You must have a registered account to make posts on the forums. You will be able to start your own thread on a topic or question, or you can reply to other threads/discussions.
    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.
    • You won't see this annoying notice at the top of every screen!😊

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

This box goes away for registered users.
  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Kaleidescape Gear Marketplace"? 🤔

To sell gear on the forum, you need to have a current "premium" (paid) membership on the forum.

The Kaleidescape Owners Forum doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. The fees for these premium memberships for people who sell gear here is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

To summarize the tiers of membership:

    • Registered (free) members can participate in any discussions anywhere on the forum, message other users, download favorite-scene files and script files, and reply to any marketplace listings.
    • "Supporter"-tier members (as little as $15 for 30 days) can also make listings in the Kaleidescape (ONLY) gear Marketplace in order to try to sell Kaleidescape gear.
(Supporters can NOT make listings on the Non-Kaleidescape Forum)
    • "Premium" and "Patron"-tier members, (starting at $50 for 6 months) in addition to many other benefits, can make listings to either of the marketplace sections here in this forum section.

For more information on the benefits of a paid members, or to purchase a Supporter, Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

4TB Alto with refurbished disk-reader. Includes the K-branded power supply and original K-remote.

Unit has been vacuumed / cleaned out with compressed air, fan cleaned and unit checked for proper operation.

Disk-reader was replaced with a unit from a failed Alto. Since Altos only catalog disks, they have much less wear and tear on them than the readers in Cinema Ones. The optical-path was cleaned on the disk-reader and operation confirmed - pulled in the disk when presented, reads it, will offer to Catalog it and then ejects the disk.

I have bought and sold on the forum many times, as well as on eBay, Audiogon, USAudioMart, all under the same username "Hey_Cameron" for 20+ years. First got hooked on K when I worked for a dealer way back in the 5U-Server days.

Price: $600
Price includes Ground shipping to the lower 48 with insurance. I will provide suitable packaging for safe shipment.
Payment via Paypal, (Goods and Services) (no extra fee charged).
Will by shipped from Olympia, Washington.
