For those considering the purchase of a Blu-Laser Player when released later this year, consider the following as well:
As mentioned in a previous post, K intends to offer an upgrade path for 1080p Player owners to upgrade to the BL Player when it becomes available. The upgrade plan will allow owners to return the 1080p Player (either player) for a credit of 50% off the BL Player MSRP, which is expected to be no more than the old 1080p Player MSRP ($4,295).
Given this information, if you were to purchase a 1080p Mini-Player at current msrp ($1,995) (exclusive of dealer install cost) you could effectively use the player until the BL Player is released and, assuming $4,295 BLP cost, return it for what would be a $2,147 credit towards the BLP. That credit would not only cover your original cost, but the return shipping back to K as well!
So if you've been considering a 1080p Player but are holding out because of the expected BLP release late this year, there is really no reason to wait!
Just FYI.
