• Thanks for visiting the Kaleidescape Owners' Forum

This forum is for the community of Kaleidescape owners, and others interested in learning about the system, equipment, services, and the company itself.

It is run by a group of enthusiastic Kaleidescape owners and dealers purely as a service to this community.

This board is not affiliated in any way with Kaleidescape, Inc.

The forum is free to use and most of the forum can be used by guests who are not registered....

... but we strongly encourage you to register for a full account. There is no cost to register for a full account.

Benefits of registering for a full account:

    • Participate in the discussions! You must have a registered account to make posts on the forums. You will be able to start your own thread on a topic or question, or you can reply to other threads/discussions.
    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.
    • You won't see this annoying notice at the top of every screen!😊

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

This box goes away for registered users.
  • Welcome to the Home Theater Galleries, a brand new area of the Forum!

I hope you'll consider making a photo album here to showcase your Kaleidescape-based home theater setups. Please don't feel like you need a 6- or 7-figure custom home theater to post your album here. Many users of this board will be looking for inspiration from less elaborate setups and across all budget levels.

Cinema77 Replacement Cover Art

These are cover art images I created from original theatrical art posters when I couldn't find what I wanted online. I focus on removing credits, modern marketing visuals, and white edges. I also sometime crop the image to be more recognizable at the scale of a tile on the Kaleidescape wall.

I realize the white edges thing is mostly my own idiosyncrasy. To me, the off-white treatment and vignette corners blend better with the black Kaleidescape Wall UI, and adds consistency to the rich, colorful posters around them. Also I know there's fold lines in some of the images, I just decided to keep them in as a reminder these are derived from scans of original posters. But also I like off-white and faint fold lines. Feels more authentic.

Also, I do this for my Plex server. That Warlords of Atlantis one I made for that platform's wall, since I have the new blu-ray disc from Imprint.

This set of 8 represents only the most recent cover art images I've customized. If there's interest, I'll go back and upload a few more.
