This has been on my watchlist forever—had no idea the UK store already had it in HD! One of my favorites growing up; I must've watched it a dozen times back then, but it's easily been 20 years.

Now, fingers crossed for a proper 4K restoration someday. The cinematography (Tony Scott at his peak) and practical action deserve it big time. That opening football scene alone would pop in 4K.

Apple started receiving titles from The Luc Besson boxed set from Sony. So far just a couple in HD, but apparently The Big Blue was supposed to be amongst them but hasn’t appeared yet so I can’t confirm whether 4K or both cuts. I did recently give up and buy the boxed set, so I’m glad to see the digital gods honoring the sacrifice.

Anybody have any information on this version? When I search, I found comments that a 4k disc was cancelled. I own in HD and am wondering what kind of 4k transfer this is. The audio shows the same for both versions. Thanks!
