US BR & 4K Releases for May & June 2024

Still hopeful that we’ll see The Boy and the Heron soon. However, I didn’t realize it was a 4K digital release, and K hasn’t been getting 4K releases from Shout!. Fingers crossed…
We still need the LAIKA Animation films to get a 4K update too...

Added in 4K HDR/SDR & HD with Dolby TrueHD Atmos from Warner Bros

Added in 4K SDR & HD with DTS HD-Master 5.1 from Lionsgate

Wonder when Horizon will be available. Hopefully before part 2 drops on August 16.

Haven't seen it yet but I have multiple family members who are waiting to watch it in my theater since no one wants to go to the real deal around here.
Personally, I would have loved to see Warner experiment with a day-and-date Premium Rent (or Buy) of Horizon: Chapter 1. I would gladly pay in the $50, $75, or even $100 (if Buy) range to get this on K the day it's released into the theaters. This is the kind of thing I'd love to see K pursue. They've got such a small market, and it's far more secure than other digital stores (i.e. it's not on torrent sites immediately), that I think day-and-date rentals/purchases would be a great offering for a premium product like K.

I think it's nearly impossible to predict what will be a hit nowadays, but I'm quite sure that this movie has a audience. I'm also quite sure that said audience is less likely to go to the theater for a 3+ hour long drama set in the Old West. On the plus side, Warner is quick to turn to digital when something isn't a hit, so if the numbers come in weak tomorrow morning then we may see this on K within two to three weeks.

Agree! Day-and-date would make great sense for a nisch and secure system as K. Would gladly pay a premium to buy (not rent).

I still live in hope of day-and-date premium rental on K. When i bought my system, i was told it is what K are aiming for eventually. I would happily pay extra for a 48 hour rental window, leading to a slight discount on future purchase of the same title. There is a market now for people who like myself, prefer to wait for home release, rather than a trip to the cinema. Plenty of people on AV forums wait. K releases are watermarked, copy protected, so the studios do not have to worry about piracy on the K platform. Belle Air Cinema is vastly overpriced, crazy money. Before the pandemic, i would visit the cinema around 30 times a year or more. Now it is less than 5 times a year. That is only to be social and when a film has huge spoilers. Otherwise, i am happy to wait. I prefer the experience in my home cinema.

100% I would absolutely pay a pretty premium to have day-and-date as I'd have no problem filling my 9 seats for new releases. Everybody chips in and it's less than going to the theater, much more convenient and far better experience.

I first got my system in 2018 and was told even back then it was supposedly in the works. 6 years later and still nothing.
