Please add a bit more space between lines in subtitles

I use English subtitles on English-language films, even though I have a master's degree in English 🥴 It's part FOMO and also because too often I just don't hear what it is they say. I was doing fine with a re-watch tonight's film, but at the end they were shouting too incoherently, so on came the subs anyway.

The bottom of the subtitles in the image hitting the bottom of the image really bothers me though. This can be fixed by just lifting the top line just a few pixels ;)

Of course, more control of subtitles would be great, but I know that's kind of against the whole deal here, with as few ways to f*ck stuff up as possible. Non-SDH subs would be great, too, but I know that's not free.

Totally agree. Having the line spacing or text placement hit right on the bottom edge is especially distracting on constant height scope screens where it can spill into the masking. Even just a tiny vertical offset or line height tweak in a software update would make a huge difference.

I’m referring specifically to the Y not having any clearance at the bottom. I believe this happens to the bottom line of text when you choose to reposition subtitles.

Also, check to see if your Lumagen can move subtitles around. My madVR Envy just got this capability and it's great. I can also adjust the size, brightness and color of the text.

Maybe you'd have to upgrade to the Artisan version when that gets released? I'm not sure. Or even the new Luma will have this feature when it becomes available (at a much lower cost).

Why the downvote, was this not helpful?

Or was the thumbs down simply a way to indicate that your Lumagen VP does not allow you to adjust the subtitles? I'm not familiar with the Lumagen, sorry.
