That's exactly how I would describe my recent watch.I watched it recently about 2 weeks ago for the first time in Dolby vision on my Strato V and found it to be very dim and dark. I could barely see facial features of some characters. My room was mildly lit so I tossed it up as a highly praised transfer that I thought was not that great.
Maybe there is an issue?
Watching on what? PJ/TVI recently downloaded Sinners in 4K HDR to watch and found it dark and dim compared to my viewing of it last year. All of my video equipment is the same, and I don't have any issues with other movies. Curious if anyone sees the same.
TV, same TV I watched it on last year.Watching on what? PJ/TV
I'm sure it was - but you didn't clarify that initiallyTV, same TV I watched it on last year.
No your right, more information is better. My TV is a Hisense U8K, so QLED.I'm sure it was - but you didn't clarify that initially. Gonna be interesting if others make the same observation. I watched it on a JVC NZ8 projector and have to say it was a "challenging" watch, but my set-up is "light deprived" and so the presentation was particularly "dark". Watching on my 10 year old Loewe OLED produced a much brighter and detailed presentation. Which TV you watching on - out of curiosity.
Thanks for checking it. Perhaps I just remember it differently.Just looked at it in HDR in my JVC nz700.
It looked the same as I could remember.
I didnt see anything wrong with it?
Yess, the movie is dark as ....
But that is the way the movie should be.
Good to know! I was debating whether to pick up the standard 4K HDR or go straight for the Cinematic version. Sounds like the higher bitrate transfer on the Cinematic release makes a noticeable difference with shadow detail.
