I posted this over on AVS Forum and I'm a smidge impatient. I know shocker. Anyhow, this image is not representative of what is on my screen. This is a pic from my iPhone and it over exposed it but still highlights an issue. Is this black crush or is this something else? I'm specifically talking about the black area under the ladder. On this movie I see the same thing on other scenes. The first time Drac is up on deck and makes his first human kill if you stop or look close you can see more of this black blob.

Thanks for the responses.

Its hard to see it but that is not black crush.
Black crush is : there are no details in the blacks. So its totally black.

This looks more like the projector is calibrated incorrectly and is just failing at displaying the darkest parts of the image.

So what would that be? By definition this would be black crush. Not saying you are incorrect but........ Looking for examples and educating myself.

I used JVC Autocal to calibrate. I need to get it calibrated but I'm waiting on my final screen.

Black crush typically looks soft and mushy, what your image shows is sharp and 'out of range.' It could be black crush, but it's hard to tell from this image.
