lol I was just reading a review for a movie where they said they had a theory that no matter how bad a film is that every movie is someone's favorite movies. But then went on to say that THAT particular movie was no one's favorite movie. That was for Sleepaway Camp IV The Survivor.

I haven't seen 28 Years Later Bone Temple yet but a co-worker of mine really wants me to see it because they loved it and they don't typically watch horror movies.

Hahaha, to further prove that theory, one of my all time favorites is Deep Rising with Treat Williams, so disappointed that K doesn’t have it.

I just noticed that the original animated The Lion King is on sale for $9.99 and bought it. That’s been in my Wishlist for months, with just the lousy Disney D2D showing a couple of bucks off.

Yep, I snagged that along with Black Cauldron, Haunted Mansion (the newer one), and a handful of titles in HD that dropped to $4.99. Hoping they’ll all get the sale treatment eventually.

It is the bootleg cut as it is 162 mins. The theatrical cut is 123 mins.

Are both the HD and 4K the same version? For many similar titles on K (The Doors, Tropic Thunder, The Hangover, and MANY more) there are "stealth" alternate cuts because the HD is a different version.

For a D2D price of $4.92, I took a shot. I see not only the running time is 2:42, but the rating is NR-R, suggesting the alternate cut is at least one of the downloads.

The 4k Blu-ray set has both the cuts in UHD. I don’t have the k version. I might do a d2d down the road.

I picked up The Game. Superb psychological thriller and invariably flies under the radar. Very underrated movie imho. I have the criterion disc for this as well.

QUESTION (time sensitive!)

I’ve been purchasing near the special prices.

What I’m not clear about is the special pricing of an individual movie vs movie sets.

If I find an individual movie in the special pricing section and I tap on that movie, it tells me the special price and when that offer ends.

For instance, finding Nemo has a special price, and the offer ends tomorrow.

But when I have tapped on that movie it also shows that there is a two movie set available (both finding Nemo movies) for $19.99

When I press “ view set” it takes me to the side of those movies with that price, but it does not mention that the price is expiring at any time.

Does this mean that that the price for the set is essentially constant and will still be even after the special pricing for the individual movie finding Nemo expires tomorrow?

Because if the set is still going to remain available at that price, then I won’t bother buying the individual movie at this time.

The same would go for the toy story movis set etc.

I also looked at the set of universal monster movies, and when I choose “ view set” it includes this: “ this price includes discounted offers.”

And I’m also not sure how to interpret that.

Agreed. I also have the Criterion BD, and got the K version earlier. It’s a contender for my next Dad’s Summer Film Festival, and have largely been waiting for a 4K version. However this being Fincher it could be a long wait and have content edits on top of that.

@Brody I think the store is telling you that the price of each movie is currently cheaper than the regular bundle price. I would buy both now since Disney movies rarely hit this $9.99 price bracket.

That convinced me to buy the Disney/Pixar titles expiring tonight - the finding Nemo said the Toy story set and ratatouille.

I know those Disney titles are usually more expensive.

OK. Time to take a break from purchasing movies!

Fun fact: The criterion includes 2 audio mixes; a) original theatrical dts-hd MA 5.1 soundtrack. b) Near field dts-hd MA 5.1 specifically created for smaller spaces at lower volumes.

It would be interesting to see what the K version includes.

I saw this in the theater. Great flick!
