Movie Updates

Dead’s poet society (1989) from Disney gets updated to 4k HDR / DV / SDR with Dolby Atmos.

My dealer asked me what is my all time favourite movie a few years when I install my system. Dead Poets Society is my answer

Do we think National Treasure will be updated to include the Atmos track? I know the current K version we have already has Dolby Vision.

I’m still learning what to expect from what studio as far as upgrades. Recently, they added a 4K Dolby Atmos/Vision version for Mrs Doubtfire but that was a bigger update.

Highly unlikely, though I do remain hopeful. I find that Kscape won't update audio tracks all the time for whatever reason. Case in point, look at the Sean Connery Bond films. They are all ATMOS mixing now on disc but only 2 of the films on KS have been updated to the ATMOS.

Disney is usually pretty good about keeping digital parity and K is usually pretty good about keeping up with Disney. More likely than not.

This is about digital vs. physical and there's nothing K can do. There's lots of examples of this, including the new Rambo 4K box set and barely updated digital offerings.

Anyway, the digital versions of (most of) the Bond movies are 5.1. In fact, K's offerings are better than other digital stores as K has the updated 4K Dolby Vision visuals. I honestly don't know how K has them when others are still stuck in SDR. But, Atmos? Not available. Pretty common with MGM for digital to be missing either Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos (Robocop, Bill & Ted movies, Dollars Trilogy, etc.).

One of my favorites. I’ve been a Robin Williams fan since I was little. He was one guy you could never get enough of. I’ve never owned this movie but it will get added to my library post haste.
Literally only bought it in the last sale 3 weeks ago for $9.99, you win some you lose some. Will upgrade once the 4K is on sale.

I have a soft spot for the Bond franchise. I have all the 4K discs and purchased them on K-scape, but I’m really hoping we get 4KC on all of these, and Atmos, if available. I would think if they could do Atmos on two of the Connery films, why not all of them? And 4KC is entirely in K-scape’s control, so no excuse for not doing that. October typically sees a Bond sale, so here’s hoping for some audio and 4KC updates to go along with it!

I’m also hoping they offer a Bond sale in early October, I missed it last year and now that the Daniel Craig series is 4k Cinematic it’s a easy purchase 👍
