I watched SDR this weekend and there is an update to that fine as well.

How does the upgrade compare to the current 4k disc everyone complains about?
I never had the 4K disc but I was highly impressed by the SDR file for the video and sound. There were some things that I thought the sound mix was missing.
There’s never been a new transfer done… it will be the same as disc.

There is nothing to be done to address the common complaints about the 4K of T2 as the problem is with the source. James Cameron had the movie converted to 3D and as the first part of this process they did a 4K "remaster" where all grain/detail was scrubbed away to make a polished product that was then downscaled for HD 3D. And, to be clear, this was the RIGHT call for 3D and the 3D version looks fantastic. However, the powers that be then simply took the 4K "base" version and released it digitally and physically. This version should have never seen the light of day, this film deserves better, and we can all hope that it gets a second run at a 4K version that more closely matches that of The Terminator.

Hmmm...a bit of a step up in data rate on T2 in 4K_C. Video average is somewhere on the high side of 119 Mbps. No Hard Feelings (120 Mbps) and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (118 Mbps) are also way up there compared to the previous Cinematic norm. T2 might be a bit of a challenge to play spot the difference with just based on the inherent craptacular transfer.
