What's Inside the Server?

I was wondering what type of hardware is in the 3U server. Does it have an Intel CPU or something else? What's the clock speed? How much RAM? Is the OS Linux-based or something built from scratch? How many NetApp-specific features (if any) are in the k-scape (e.g., WAFL, aggregates)?

Holy cow... you looking for a work-around already! :)

That "tiny dark corner of the world" is looking better by the minute... and I hear Antigua is lovely this of year :D

Oh no, that's not my intention. I really am just curious - purely from a geeky perspective!

Open it up (void the warranty), and look inside. That would answer most of your questions.:)

Yeah, well... not terribly interested in voiding my warranty. Just thought someone maybe closer to k-scape would know...

Hi Joe, just kidding in my prior post....obviously you wouldn't open the Server. I suspect others are curious as well, and I agree, it is the "geek" in many of us that would want to know more.:)
