Turn off servers with remote

Is it possible to set up so the servers are turned off when the player is turned off
From an ecology point of view I only use my system weekends so would be great to turn off in between times
Thanks
Neale

Not quite what you want but I have my servers and vaults plugged into a power bar that is, in turn plugged into a Belkin WeMo switch. This lets me remotely power off or on the servers and vaults using my tablet or phone from anywhere (don't even have to be on the same network).

That's a very low-end solution. You could do something even more elegant with a control system and an network-addressable power bar.

Beyond the network enabled PDUs, you could also look into some of the nicer eco-friendly UPS devices (I like the ones from APC because you can pre-emptively silence the alarm.) Plug the player into the master switch and the server into one of the controlled outlets and it will get turned on/off with the player. Not sure if there would be a big enough difference with a vault for this trick to work.

It won't be happy about it, and there's the slightly higher risk of disk damage due to things not being parked at that exact moment (but automating that would probably require MacGyvering the physical power-switch to a relay.) I would suspect as long as the switches are few & far between, there shouldn't be too big an issue. Other than waiting for the system to finish initializing once power is restored, anyway.

Just to be clear, you can turn the server completely off with the power button. There is just not a way to automate this.

I think you could automate it with some lego mindstorms, but it wouldn't be an elegant or pretty solution.

Belkin Wemo switch via iPad app.

I started using this method after Croptop suggested it,works perfectly and never had any problems.
