"Disk Unable to Import". This disk is just out today. Has anyone else tried importing this disk? I'll shoot an email to Kaleidescape.

I think we will continue seeing these issues with some releases because of the everchanging authoring schemes used by certain manufacturers. I'm sure K will get on this as soon as possible.

For those that may not know this, the attention given to a DVD that will not import is usually driven by the number of attempted but failed imports by owners. K can actually determine this number internally, and then dedicate the resources necessary to fix the problem.

So in a way its better to try and have the problem so the system will report it than us carping here?

:D

Yes, the more failed imports becomes more of an issue and gets more attention (logically) because of the number of owners affected. Of course K does eventually work on all problem DVD's but very popular troubled DVD's become a priority. (That's how it was explained to me.)

Poorly Authored DVD list

I found this trolling through the K website. It lists the poorly authored movies determined thus far by K:

http://www.kaleidescape.com/support/poorly-authored-dvds.php

Also note that a search of the "Knowledge Base" for poorly authored dvds will lead you to a similarly compiled list that reflects the number of times that the issue was reported to K.

The Knowledge Base is quite interesting to learn more Kaleidescape. Some of it is a rehash of the FAQs, while other links provide specific information not found in the FAQs.

This is a very old thread, but wanted to check on the status. Can anyone confirm that "The Express" does now import?
