Strato / Premiere Combo

How many Strato/CoStar/Premiere can be run in a system before system problems develop? I’m running 4 combo units now without a terra server and I am getting the dreaded “difficulty reading movie” message only on HDR content. My network is 500/500 with gigabit throughput within the system so no issues there. Would a terra server help the transmission of data via HDR? Thoughts?

Are you using switches?

I think you are getting to the limit of the capabilities of Stratos without a server. Going from memory here but here a specific comments:

1) Maximum number of Stratos w/o a server is four.
2) Maximum number of HDR streams is 2 (I couldn’t find this list on my initial look but I think I am right on this). If you are trying to stream content to more than two players at a time, you need a server.
3) if you can stream HD content from your premier server to all four paired system players than it isn’t a network issue.

With a Terra server you stream content to up to ten viewing zones.

Also, you said "no switches at all". How are your Stratos networked together?

Directly linked back to router that does have one master 24 port zone for switches. It is a pakedge system.

I see. My understanding is that our support team has reached out to you to help resolve this issue. The engineering team looked at the diagnostics from your system and found a network-related problem that appears to be causing the interruptions you're experiencing. If you haven't heard from the support folks, please reach out to them.

Yes, but he is saying the K is not connected to the switch.
just to troubleshoot I would say to pull everything off the RE router except the Kaleidescape components

Rusty helped me here. Ended up being a bad wall plate port. Replaced it with Cat 6E port and results cleared the problem. Wow. Thanks too K or I would have never known. Terrific trouble shooting by Rusty!
