Just heard from a senior Kaleidescape contact that both the 1U-to-3U and the 5U-to-3U server trade-up programs are being extended with no stated expiration date. (Previously, these programs were set to expire at the end of Feb, 2010.)

I was given permission to post this to the forum today.

Kaleidescape said they've received very positive feedback on the programs and wants to make sure owners of all their servers continue to have peace-of-mind that they aren't locked in to a product that they could outgrow or that doesn't have the latest features.

I think this is great news. It should also keep the resale value of 5U and 1U servers higher as they can easily and affordably be upgraded by a new owner.

So, if like me you've been starting to panic about getting the upgrade ordered in the next two weeks you can breath a little easier... :)
