Scripting Question

So I've gotten about 30 movies on my Kscape thus far, and after reading the forums I had a question i'm hoping you all can help me on.

Has anyone done a script that shows trailers or "coming to DVD attractions" before their movies? Is there a way to easily do this for any movie that you have? I would appreciate any help.

I just think it would be a really awesome experience at home to have the movie theater experience (even though i am not a theater equipment buff...yet)

Thanks

JTM

PS... I'd love to try something like this..

Trailers (4-5)
Shorts (like BURN-E, etc...)
then start the movie

Sure... I've done that. Posted it here a while ago...

This one doesn't have trailers, but does do triva questions on a loop until I hit "select", then it does a short feature, then a nice Kaleidescape "Walk The Red Carpet" intro, welcoming people to the theater, then the main movie. Would be trivial to add in some trailers too if you like that... there's a script command for it.

Trailers are very easy to add. Not sure if you were aware of this or not but if a disc has a trailer, the Kscape will recognize this on the main title page/movie description (after you select the movie and before you hit play movie). One of the menu options after "Play Movie" "Resume Movie" is "Play Trailer" (if available for that disc). and as Josh mentioned you can select this easily when creating a script (when you pick that movie as part of the script, "play trailer" will be a choice, along with selecting a certain chapter or favorite scene from that movie)

Mars is correct, but ONLY for the trailer(s) of the exact movie that's on the disc.

Many discs have lots of trailers for OTHER movies, and Kaleidescape's data service does not recognize or mark those. If you want to pick up trailers for other movies that are on a disc and use those for a "coming soon" part of your script, you'll have to manually create Favorite Scenes for those trailers and use a script command to call that favorite scene at the right time. Would be pretty simple to do.

Turns out a member here suggested this as an improvement back in February, '07. See suggestion #1 in this thread: http://www.kscapeowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161
