Dear AnOutsider,

Someone has tried to log into your account on Kaleidescape Owners' Forum with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 188.143.235.118

All the best,
Kaleidescape Owners' Forum

Unsurprisingly, the IP is from Russia.

Yup, it happens.

Anyone else seen this?
I need any other IP addresses that they've used to try to get in.

they tried to get in to the admin panel too. No damage done this time.

in my experience, they've moved on to easier and less well-protected forums by now. we just don't have a big enough audience for them to spend much time trying to break in. There are plenty of easier targets that can reach more people.

But i'll lock out a big range of IP addresses from that area as a small additional protection.

Why would they target this forum? What- are they going to try and get a bunch of luxury AV equipment owners to click on work-from-home ads?!? :)
