I don't see much about RTI remotes but with my frustration with the Unfolded kickstarter campaign and lack of self-programming options on other platforms, I think I've found the best solution, or rather it found me A dealer reached out to me and asked me to consider RTI as an option, and they even offer free programming. I'm in the middle of getting it up and running but so far it seems to be what I've been chasing. I'm currently using a URC MX-1200 remote with the MRC-400 base station that I'll soon lose the ability to program when my old computer craps out, as it'll only work on the 32-bit Windows 7 platform. If you're interested in RTI, PM me and I'll pass the dealer info along to you.

I'm interested even though i have an Unfolded. Considering AVA... but would consider RTI. Weird there aren't really any youtube reviews of it... how is the Kaleidescape integration? is it doing full TCP/IP of all your relevant devices, and is the K integration fully 2-way with cover art showing on the remote along with playback position like it does on Unfolded and Crestron and others?

I'm like you... barely hanging on to an URC MX-880, but need another solution.

I'm still in the middle of programming but it does offer IP integration for my devices except for my Bryston DAC, and D'Agostino preamp (which is not possible anyway since it's an older model without IP functionality) so for those I'm using serial/RS232. The only thing it can't handle is the Apple TV as there are no drivers forcing me to use IR. It does have 2-way functionality but not sure yet about Kaleidescape, but I'll let you know when it's up and running, or I can pass the dealer's info along to you so you can have your questions answered.

Hi
I am an RTI user for a long time: using ID9: my dealer left the program on my PC so I can tweak it
The RTI driver provides 2 way feedback for K including cover art
RTI is very powerful: great remotes

wish someone could make a good video showing how it looks and works.

how is battery life, wake-up time, lagginess of UI?

My RTI system includes the iPad app and several T2X and T3X remotes. The remotes can do RF (1 way) and wifi and Zigbee (both 2 way)
The IOS app is fast and very responsive, same for Zigbee. WiFi wake-up is a bit slow.
RTI’s newest remotes boast instant on WiFi and excellent battery life; but they require ID11, a newer firmware version

The RTI K driver for IOS allows you to jump to the K app and back directly from the RTI app; neat feature

One of my favorite features (which I imagine is also on Creston) is the inclusion of a volume indicator on the remote screen. Perfect for discreet volume changes with guests. For the same reason, really appreciate the hardware volume up/down buttons on the T3X.

Okay, I've got an initial build... it's just a basic program to see how it works. So far I can tell you that the remote (ISR-4) wakes up immediately when picked up. There have been a few occasions where the WiFi would drop out but only momentarily. The K-scape driver is really responsive, just as fast as the the handheld K-scape remote . What's really nice are the iPad and iPhone apps... no lag and K-scape integration is seamless, like using the native K-scape apps... shows cover art, progress bar, etc. This initial build has not been perfect... there are a few glitches (like not triggering certain functions) but that's to be expected in this early build and I'm sure they'll be fixed. Once I get my home theater and audio systems programmed I'll start integrating my lighting, HVAC, shades and security systems into the programming.

When you get to the lights (assume Lutron) there is a ‘report’ option at the top of the page: you can use that to tell you the ID of each light or shade
