This is a very sad news. It was a joy to watch him as Greef Karga in the Mandalorian. I was looking forward to seeing more of his character in the upcoming seasons. I think I am watching Rocky and Predator tonight. Lost another hero from my childhood. RIP Apollo Creed (and Dillon)

Thanks Substance for making this thread, I appreciate it.

As one might guess by my picture I'm a huge Rocky fan and have been since 1982 when I first saw Rocky III. I begged mom to take me to the VHS rental store the next day to try and find Rocky I and II. I've been hooked ever since.

When I went to watch Predator as a child my brain was confused by seeing Apollo Creed in a different movie. Was he undercover? Was this his day job? While I was old enough to know logically that it was the actor Carl Weathers, the child in me only saw Apollo Creed.

I've thought about that moment several times over the years which has helped me understand the "magic" of movies and further enhance my love of movies. When done right, for a couple of hours we are pulled into a different world that truly exists, if only onscreen. I enjoyed Carl Weathers in multiple things he was in, Action Jackson, Predator, Happy Gilmore, etc., but to me he will always be Apollo Creed and now Apollo, The King of Sting, The Count of Monte Fisto and The Master of Disaster is gone and my child heart is hurting. I will have to watch Rocky again to bring some of the magic back.
